DIRECTIONS TO THE BEST FISHING ON FLORIDA'S WEST COAST

If you are planning on flying in commercially, there are two major airports : Tampa International and Orlando International. Orlando is 80 miles from Homosassa.  Tampa is 60 miles.  Our local airport at Crystal River offers a small jet and plane paved landing strip that is 4500 feet by 55 feet wide.  Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged by calling Capt. Mike.

DRIVING   

• For all U.S. 19 northbound and southbound travelers go to Homosassa Springs, look for Burger King and turn west at traffic light. This is Yulee Road (or S.R. 490-S).
• Follow the two-lane road (with double-yellow lines) about 2 miles to stop sign.
• Turn left at stop sign and continue to follow double-yellow lines just over a mile.  Keep right at school where Yulee becomes Cherokee Way.  About a quarter of a mile you will come to a four-way stop sign. (You will see Riverside Inn on your right)
• Drive straight ahead for 200 feet and turn left before the boat ramp onto the parking lot of MacRae's. The log cabin building on your left is the office and the gray block bait house is on the river to your right.
• The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the bait house is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Both are open daily except on Christmas.
